There are going to be a lot of pictures on this post . . . be ready. We had a GREAT first birthday for Chase and Owen. Jeff and I reflected on 1 year ago and all the joy that has come to be. I had a few neighborhood families over during the day for cupcakes. The kids had fun playing together.

We had dinner that night as a family and then gave Chase and Owen their first piece of cake. They did exactly as expected. Owen picked up his piece by piece and neatly put the cake in his mouth. Chase grabbed his and smeared it on his face, only getting a little bit in his mouth. It was fun to watch them both. I think they liked the cake-they are MY children after all (sweet teeth run in the family). Oh, and no, we don't believe in bibs. As we were singing and holding the cake in front of the boys Owen reached for it and took a big hunk out of the cake. Oh well-it's his of course.

I bought those super cute birthday hats for them, aren't they funny!!! We got a big laugh out of them. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson sent balloons-1 set for each boy-how thoughtful. If you look closely you'll see a jar of green beans tied on to them as the weight-they know C and O's fav. food is green beans! How thoughtful. Chase saw the balloons as he was eating and went nuts-smiled, wanted to touch them, etc. It was adorable. He then chased them around for the next hour. When Owen got up from his nap he couldn't even eat lunch because he was so interested in the balloons. Way to go G and G!
