Coming Alive

Lately Hattie has been, as Jeff puts it, "coming alive".  She is so active and curious it is so fun!  Hattie points at things she wants to see and grunts or makes some sort of noise indicating she wants to see it or move toward it.  She wants to get on the ground and touch things and play with them.

Looking for Mommy

Hattie likes to sit and eat while helping me in the kitchen.  I happened to catch her with her little ankles crossed.

Little drool baby.  She was on my knees while i was laying on my back.  She didn't drool at all while teething with the first 8 teeth.  Suddenly she's a fountain of water.

Sitting in front of the dishwasher last week when she was sick.  She liked to look at her reflection.

When she is tired or sick though, she doesn't want to be put down at all. She wants to be held all the time and if Mommy is in the room she wants me!  She will lunge out of Jeff's arms toward me so I can hold her and then she gives me a big hug. She's just a little cuddle bug and we love it.

Hattie has been practicing standing and she loves it.  If the boys are playing on the ottoman she wants to be there playing too.  I'll put her down and she will right away turn to the boys, look at them and make a noise as if to say, "I'm here now, let's play!"  She doesn't need someone holding her all the time, although she does fall on her bottom every now and then.

She also likes to walk.  She kicks her little chubby feet out and walks forward, sometimes stepping on her own feet.  She loves it and giggles and talks.

Looking out the window is a source of entertainment. She stares at things and pounds on the window and talks.  She's really quite verbal, always "singing" by cooing and gurgling at the back of her throat, saying "da da da", clicking her tongue, etc.

Finally on Sunday night she slept through the night! She did last night too!  I put her down awake at 7:00, left her fan on all night (which I had not done in the past) and she slept until 5:30!  Today she got up at 4:30 but went back to sleep.  She whined for about 25 minutes Sunday night and only about 3 last night.  Hopefully we are on to something.

Hattie is just a sweet sweet baby and we love her so much.  She completes our family so well and gives us all so much joy.
