Trick or Treat!

Halloween this year was so much fun.  The boys were very into it and very excited.  They practiced saying, "Trick or Treat" and "Happy Halloween" for days.  They were so excited to get candy and eat it all. When I told them it was Halloween they yelled, "Yeah!"  Jeff and I took them out to a few houses and then Jeff went home to hand out candy.  I took the boys to the rest of the houses.  We stopped home to empty out our heavy buckets and got the wagon so we could get around quicker.  The boys walked so slowly!  After each house they would say, "More house? more candy?"  We were able to see so many of our neighbors and had fun looking at their cute costumes.

House #1

The funniest story of the night was after we were home.  Owen really liked to hand out candy to the kids.  So, each time the doorbell rang he would jump off his chair and run to the front door. He gave the candy out very mater of factly, like he was an adult.

We were running out of candy so I told him he could only give 1 piece to each kid.  Chase was going to the bathroom and ran out in just his undies and shirt.  The kids at the door were boys who were in about 6th grade.  They were so sweet.  Owen was eating a sucker.  He picked up the candy to give to the boys and went to drop candy into their bags.  He dropped his open, half eaten sucker into the bag of one of the boys.  The boy looked at me like, "What are you going to do? Did you see that?"  I was laughing and the boy got the sucker out. Owen was a bit embarrassed and he took the sucker back.  The boys were so nice saying, "It's ok dude, high five".  Then Chase is trying to give candy but I can see he is hiding behind the door and covering his lower body like he was embarrassed. I had never seen him do that before and I was laughing again.  I said, "Oh Chase are you embarrassed?" and he started laughing and the boys, again were so nice.  They laughed gently and said, "It's ok."  Chase scurried off upstairs and came down with some new pants.  I was laughing so hard I had to go tell Jeff right away.  The kids probably thought we were the crazy house.
