Visiting Nana and Papa Anderson

Nana pushes Owen around in a box and Chase cheers him on.

Nana and the boys

Nana and Owen looks at his eggs.  Owen really wanted to be with Nana this trip.  He even woke up at night asking for her.

Papa and Chase play with cars on the floor.

Papa and Owen play together.

Chase got a hair cut from Mommy

Chase laughs cuz a haircut tickles

Chase and Owen run after the cat, who was less than thrilled.  Chase wears his backpack.

The boys did not realize the cats could climb a tree!  They were shocked.

We went to a farm of some family friends.  They have a lot of cattle and some baby calves already.  The boys were excited to see the baby cows.  Once we got there Chase heard the beller of the cows and got scared, so he had to be held the entire time.  Owen did ok with the loud noises.  They had a lot of cats too.  The cats got into a little cat fight in the barn which Owen still talks about!
Papa takes Chase into the cow barn to see the baby cows.

The boys sit up on a hay bale.

Chase was not thrilled to be on the hay bale, but Owen enjoyed it.

The boys run off down the gravel path.

Chase cries while Nana tries to take his hand.

Owen sits in the big tractor seat!

Chase stands in the tractor.

Mommy, Chase and Owen got a ride in the big tractor.  Thanks Mike!

Chase watches the cat roll around and thought it was very funny.

Making Cookies with Mama

Owen loves to help Mama make cookies, especially when he gets to lick a beater!

Chase likes to lick his fingers.

Look at Owen go!

Chase smiles when he sees the cookie dough.

Chase smiles as Mommy.

Owen wanted one more cookie.
Not a chance, Owen.

Cuddle and Tickle Time

When I was home last week no one changed out of jammies or showered.  It was great!  However the pictures are not pretty because of it! :)  Owen and I had some cuddle time on the couch.  He was in such a great mood and was putting his face in mine and laughing and tickling and just wanted to lay in my arms and rest and cuddle.  I made Jeff get the camera to capture some of it. It was precious.

A Lesson

Well, we said goodbye to our fish Bobby Bob.  He was a good fish . . . and lived just over 1 week at our house. Poor guy.  We talked to the boys about Bobby Bob and told them he had died.  The boys said, "Die?"  Chase even acted like he was crying.  I have to be honest, it was sad.  I know it's just a fish and it was only here 1 week, but I felt bad for the boys.  I guess it's a part of life and a lesson that must be learned.  I felt I learned that well since I grew up on a farm.  We had so many cats, lambs, cows, etc. that came and went and each time it was sad, but I understood what could and eventually would happen.

While We Were Home

Played with toys in the basement while wearing our slippers

Disinfected the bathrooms
Attempted to get dressed while watching TV

Hid from Mommy

Danced and showed our ribs

Tried to grab the camera.

Played in Mommy's face

Made strange hair creations
Stood tall and skinny.  Look at this little man.  He doesn't even have a butt.  Owen's so thin!

Happy Birthday Nana!

Discipline in Action

Owen feels bad about what he did and I need to talk to him about it.

Loving him even though he was disobedient

Trying to talk to Owen

"Owen, look at Mommy.  I love you but you can not do what you did."  Look at those eyes-it's hard not to melt.

A Fish Named Bobby Bob

Last weekend we took the boys to get a new pet.  We got a blue Beta fish and he is named Bobby Bob, sometimes called Baby Bop.  I suggested the name Bob because it was one the boys could say.  Somehow it developed into Bobby Bob.  It's funny because my dad's name is Bob! :)

The boys had a great time at the pet store. They ran around and were amazed at all the animals. They yelled and pointed and smiled a lot.

When we found the Betas and picked ours out Chase really really wanted to hold him.   The problem was that Bob's lid had holes in it and we were afraid Chase would dump out the water.  He got to hold him for a bit when we got home.

Chase looks at Bobby Bob

Owen still wasn't feeling the best, poor guy. This probably wasn't as much fun for him.

The Calm Before the Storm

Just when I thought the boys were all better I got a phone call from daycare yesterday that Chase had a fever.  Jeff went to get the boys and Chase was for sure not feeling well.  He was coughing like Owen had been days ago and just wasn't himself.  Last night was a bad night.  Chase coughed so much that it began to hurt to cough.  Each time he woke himself up and cried and cried and said "Owie".  It was terrible to see.  I held him in the chair and rocked and wished I could make it better for him.  Today has not been much better.  He still has a cough and a fever.  He did take a great nap, which I think has helped.  When will it end?

Owen napping today

A few weeks ago Jeff and the boys had some fun!  Can you see our TV in the background?  We were watching home videos of the boys from their first year of life.

And The Diagnosis Is . . .

A case of the crazies!!!!

Undies on Chase and Owen's heads

no, seriously . . .

Influenza A and pneumonia for Owen (confirmed by a nasal swab and chest x-rays)

And

A probable case of Influenza A and pink eye for Chase.

No wonder we have not been feeling well!  Yesterday at home was just terrible.  Owen felt just horrible and couldn't do much of anything.  After talking to the nurse at our clinic and discussing the fact he's had a fever for 4 days, we decided to take him in to the open clinic.  I'm glad we did. Jeff went with Owen to get his x-ray and was so proud! I guess Owen had to hug this pole, turn to the side, life up his arms, etc.  He followed all the instructions given by the tech.  Jeff couldn't believe how great he did.  He wasn't scared or anything.  While we were at the clinic Chase started to feel warm.  By the time we got home his temp was 103.  Poor guy.  They went right to bed, had a cough filled night in which they slept ok, but Mommy didn't.

Today they are totally different boys.  It's amazing what a good night sleep will do.  Owen is playing again, which he hasn't done for days.  Chase is not quite himself, but is doing ok.  Hopefully we can be back at daycare tomorrow.  The boys have been asking for their friends

Currently they are dancing and doing high knee lifts while watching Veggie Tales.  I have tears in my eyes while watching their joy.  Makes Mommy feel so much better to see her babies well.

While folding laundry today the boys go a hold of the dish cloths and undies and we were playing with them by putting them on our head. Then they wanted 2 layers of undies.  They were tackling each other and me.

This picture is of the boys trying as hard as they can to tackle me and knock me over.  I'm holding them back with one hand while I try to take this one picture.
Owen pushes his car around while wearing his underwear.  So funny!  Pretty sure they are feeling better!
