Kindergarten Progress

Kindergarten is going so well.  Chase and Owen just love it and I can’t believe all they tell me about it. The “telling” happens randomly throughout the night, for if I ask what they did that day I rarely get a good answer.  They take their learning seriously and have loved learning Zoo Phonics.  This is a program I’ve become familiar with from working with kindergarteners at my school.  Owen randomly starting singing the song and doing the actions last week and I was able to join.  Chase came in a few minutes later and did it.  They take it seriously because they correct each other if the actions are done wrong.  It’s soooo funny.  “No Owen, it’s like this, “uh, uh, uh”” with the actions.  It’s so sweet what is serious to a 5 year old. Makes me remember to be more light hearted and enjoy the little things.

They like to read the books they make and color, but they have to stop coloring, “when we hear the song”.  Today Owen told me I needed to go to kindergarten so Mrs. Koepsell could teach me the alphabet.  But, I had to walk in the hall and I couldn’t talk, per Owen.
I’m also amazed that their pants from last spring barely fit them! When did all this growing happen? When did my boys get so tall?

It’s wonderful to see that they are learning and retaining and using the information they learn in school.  Way to go boys!
