Easter Fun

 We had the annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt Saturday morning.  It rained while adults were hiding the eggs and it poured after the egg hung, but it was dry during! :)  They had the hunt at the new park in our neighborhood and boy were the kids excited.  After Owen picked up his first egg he began to run and I heard him giggle and scream in glee.  It was adorable.

Easter day was great!  The boys woke up early (5:00 for Chase).  I slept with Chase until Owen woke up at 6:00 and then I laid with him for 15 minutes.  He noticed the umbrella the Easter bunny left him at the end of his bed and had to go tell Chase to look at his.  Owen busted into Chase's room and woke him from a deep sleep.  Poor Chase was so out of it, he didn't know what to think.  He was excited about his umbrella as well.  We went downstairs and Owen noticed the eggs hidden right away-thus began an egg hunt.  They saw their Easter baskets and looked in those and were happy with their treats.  They ran around the house snatching up eggs and looking for more.  It was cute to watch.  I had hid a bunch of jelly beans that neither of them were interested in.

We quickly got ready for church-our favorite part of Easter.  Jeff and I ushered at the 8:30 service at the Chanhassen High School.  Since Westwood is always overcrowded on Easter they have alternate services at the High School.  The boys were very excited to go to church, as always. The service was wonderful, uplifting and reminded us of the meaning of Easter and how fortunate we are to be one of Jesus' children.  We went to brunch after church and went home to play outside.  The boys and I picked up sticks that had fallen from the big oak.  Chase was the most helpful, coming back time after time for more sticks to put in the pile.  Owen liked to collect sticks for his own collection, which he took to a special spot to hoard.  :)  We took a late nap, had a nice meal and played outside again.  It was a great Easter as a family.

Jesus is Alive!

Man I love Easter.  There is nothing like the promise of new life that comes through Jesus' resurrection to change your life forever.

There is nothing like hearing your 3 year olds say the following after church:
Chase:  "Jesus die on cross." with a sad voice,
Owen yelling:  "Jesus is alive!"

There is nothing like telling your 3 year olds the story of Jesus' death and resurrection, believing they are not listening, only to have your youngest retell Daddy the entire story, with animation.

Jesus does amazing things in the lives of many. I pray He is working in your life as well and you know and feel the power of his Love.

Spring Break Fun

Since we stayed home for spring break this year we played a lot and were very goofy.  The boys had fun playing construction worker.  Owen chose to pose like this in his construction gear. :)

 We colored Easter eggs and had a blast.  Things got a little messy at one point but the eggs turned out really well.

Lately the boys have really been into coloring and painting.  We get home from daycare and that's what they want to do.  I like to given them a huge sheet of paper and let them go at it.  They loved blending colors on this particular day.

Spring Break 2012

Spring break this year was a bit different then it's been in the past.  Typically we visit Jeff's parents in Florida, but this year we stayed home.  Our Spring Break trip was to South Dakota to visit my parents.  We had a terrific time, although I don't have many pictures to show for it.  I did get a few pictures with my phone, however. 

On Sunday wewent to a friend's farm to see their baby lambs. Chase and Owen had a blast.  They liked running around the farm and climbing the dirt piles more than anything else.  They had a couple lambs that took to them and followed them around.  It was pretty sweet to watch.  We also saw a baby calf, who was scared to death of us.  Poor guy.

 Many times when we are on the farm we are doing things that are not conducive to carrying a camera.  For example, we went to the creek to throw rocks, get stuck in mud and see the water.  It was not a good time to be carrying a camera.  Chase and Owen go so stuck-luckily Grandpa brought their froggy boots and they didn't care if they got stuck.  In fact, they wanted to get stuck, over and over. They would get covered in mud and then run to the rocky area, walk in the creek and wash their boots off.  Chase was walking on a very muddy area near the dugout, when suddenly one foot went down to his knee. Mom and I were laughing so hard, but Chase wasn't.  Luckily Grandma was able to get him out without sinking herself.  We went to a huge park, saw ducklings and explored in the barn.  On Monday morning the boys and I went to Mom's school to say hi to her class.  Chase and Owen were so shy and embarrassed they wouldn't even open their eyes and hid behind me.  We had such a fun time playing, making messes and enjoying the outdoors.
