Tuesday in Naples

After the rough night before (when he was up for hours not sleeping) Owen finally crashed and took a great nap on Tuesday.

The boys enjoy some alone time on the bed watching the iPad (miracle machine)
Jeff and I got to go to dinner!  It was great.
On Tuesday we went to the zoo.  The boys were excited, can you tell?
They sat side by side to watch the snakes.
Owen picks up a shell and looks closely at it.
Chase looks at the totem pole
Chase tentatively touches the tiger. Doesn't it look real?
Riding the camel at the kids play area.
We got some pop corn, which Owen claimed as his own.
Looking at some animals.

We went to a show.  It was a good show, but not for toddlers.  They lasted about 10 minutes and then all the moms and dads with toddlers started to vacate the show.  It was a long time to sit.  It was very hot this day and the boys, in Mommy fashion, were sweating up a storm.  Owen's hair gets crazy when he sweats.
Owen, very appropriately, wears his bugs shirt on the trip to the zoo.
Chase is excited to see the animals at the zoo.

Owen was a little scared of the parrots squawking.
He needed some comforting.
Look at how sweaty Owen is!  We stopped at the bridge on the way to our car and thew popcorn at the koi fish and little turtles.  It was the boys' favorite part of the trip!
This is how Chase wore his hat to keep the sun out of his hair.
Look at Chase's sweaty head!

We also threw rocks into the pond.  Look at that throw Chase is ready to release!

More Sunday in Florida

At the Seafood Festival we had plenty of fun things to do!
Chase climbs high and Owen follows. This was the second time they had gone up, the first time I had to go with.
The big blow up slide
Chase points at us and waves
Owen is a little unsure about going down by himself.
Chase goes down the slide by himself.
Daddy and Owen go down the slide together.
There was a big bounce house and no kids were in it, so I got to have some fun with the boys.  I helped Owen bounce up and down.

Owen has his wrestling face on-"I'm gonna get you," he says.

Daddy got in to partake in the fun and chased Chase around

Later that day we swam in the pool.  Chase was having a ball with me. We played for ever in the water.  His favorite thing was for me to float on my back while he layed on me.  He rested his chin on my chin and just floated.  It was so sweet.

Sping Break 2011 - Naples, FL

Chase gets geared up for pool time early Sunday morning.
Owen has his water gun ready to squirt . . .

Nana takes the boys in for a dip

Mommy and Chase have fun in the water.  This is the only time he would wear those floaties.

Chase is having fun in the ring-also the only time he would wear it.

Mommy reassuring Owen that it's ok to be in the floatie.

What a wonderful trip to Florida we had!  We made our annual trip to visit Nana and Papa Berger and boy oh boy were Chase and Owen excited to see them.  They ran into their arms as Nana and Papa waited for us at the airport.  The weather was just perfect and we were able to spend so many days in the pool.
On Sunday the boys were up early, as usual.  Jeff came in to wake me up saying, "Where is Chase's swim suit?  He's outside, he took all his clothes off and wants to get in the pool."  :)  I got up and was in the pool with Chase at 8:30 am!  We went to a Seafood Festival on Marco Island around 10:00. Chase and Owen were the only kids there for a little while so they got to play on the blow up bouncers all by themselves.  They climbed to the top of the big slide and Chase went down right away, all by himself.  This was very atypical of him.  Owen wanted me to go down with him, so of course, I did. It was fun!  We then had some great seafood, I had grouper. It was really hot and the boys were sweating.  Their little faces were bright red, too.  They sure take after their Mommy.  There was a band of senior citizens playing music as entertainment.  Chase and Owen grabbed our hands and dragged us over to dance in front of all the people.  We had such a great time.  C & O fell asleep on the way home but would not take a nap when we got home, so they went napless on Sunday.  We went out and had a super fun pool party.  Everyone was in the water splashing, kicking, laughing and having a blast.  Chase layed on my tummy as I floated on my back. He loved it!  He would rest his chin on my chin and just lay there.  We also began hunting for gekos, which Chase and Owen call gackos.  Owen says gago.

Sunday night was a nightmare, with the boys not wanting to sleep at all.  They were up around 10:30 and didn't go back to sleep until 2:30 am.  Jeff and I were not happy campers.  The next day we hung out at the house all day and went in the pool many many times.  The boys couldn't get enough of the water, throwing things in it, looking out at the pond, looking for geckos, etc. It was the most content I've seen them in a long time.  They just played and played and played with very little arguing.

I've taken too long to post about Florida and now I'm having trouble remembering things!  Yikes.  More to come.

"Sss my goo"

"Ssss my goo"  is what Owen said to me at 3:30 in the morning as he was crying.  Translation, "worms my bed".  Poor guy thought there were worms in his bed. We've been playing with worms a lot lately and he must have worms on the brain.

Funny Stuff from Owey and Da

Yesterday Owen insisted upon wearing 1 red tennis shoe with a thick sole, with a blue/camo high top sneaker with a thin sole.  It was very cute and very funny.  It was so Owen.

On the way to daycare the boys were watching a Sesame Street video.  It has a music video song of Gloria Estefan, which I find humorous.  The song is about the mambo and has people dancing, etc.  Chase starts singing the "eyeyeye" part and I look in back and he is totally grooving, moving his arms like the dancers in the video and is just jamming out. At first when he sang he was off pitch but he changed to be on pitch.  It was fo funny.  Da, you are too cute.

On the way home it was Owen's turn to sing and do some dancing. :)
