Deardorff Orchards

Yesterday we went to Deardorff Orchards near Waconia. It was such a wonderful time! We rode on a flatbed around the orchard, looking at the trees and grape vines. We sampled apples, bought a mum, took wagon rides, looked at the horses and goats, had a hot dog and an apple and enjoyed being together outside. What a fun thing to do together!

Last year this at this time we also visited the orchard, I think the boys were just about 10 weeks old. How cute! They couldn't even hold their heads up yet-now look at em!

Fun times on the farm.

Holding little hands.

Oh how cute!

Chasey is in awe of the animals.

Owen stares intently at the camera.

Yipeeee!! Goats.

Owen is very interested and a little nervous about seeing the goats.

Check out those cute shoes!

Once an Outing

For those of you who have twins, you'll know what I'm talking about . . .

At least once an outing Jeff and I still get (and will forever, I'm sure) twin comments.

"Oh, are they twins?"
"They must be identical!"
"You must be busy!"
"Do twins run in your family?"
and my favorite, "I always wanted twins."

Jeff just commented the other day on the fact we continue to get comments everywhere we go. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Twins are something of interest to people. Even I, who have twins, like to find other sets of twins and point them out to Jeff. This isn't a new thing, either, it's something I've always done. And, just the other day, I commented to Jeff that I still couldn't believe WE had TWINS! I mean, seriously, they are 14 months old! We just think of them as 2 kids, though. They are Chase and Owen to us, not "twins".

And it's not all bad. At least people look at the boys and not at me and the fact I'm usually wearing a pony tail, shoes that don't match my outfit and have snot or some sort of food from babies on my clothes, shorts and sometimes in my hair. It brightens my day to talk about the boys and show them off, so you know what . . . bring on the twin comments! Keep 'em coming! :)

Come on: Do these boys look identical to you?

ok, maybe they look a little alike . . . . just a little. . . .

Language and Labor Day

Owen dons his new hat and looks so cute!

Owen looking up at me as he wants to have something to eat.

Chase wants a taste of Jeff's beer-this is how he looks when he REALLY wants something. The more open his mouth, the more he wants it!

Owen tries on Jeff's new hat.

Chasey loves to look like a big boy in Daddy's hat.

Owen sits in the sun with Grandma and Grandpa by the lake and sucks his thumb with blanky.

Who's the bucket head?

Chasey's wet face.

Sweet sweet Chasey.

Let me have the water! I want it!

Owen is "SO BIG" in the not so big tub of water.

"WEEEEEE Mommy!"

Chase is excited to play with the buckets

C and O spend some time outside playing with water.

Owen sits and cuddles with me.

C and O's language is ramping up around here. This weekend they learned to shake their heads, "no, no, no". It's so funny to watch them attempt to move their heads in a fluid motion. Their heads tilt and the side to side motion is so choppy and quick one time and slow the next. We are trying to teach them, "Yes, Mommy", but only Chase has gotten it by putting his head back really far, but not bringing it back down.

They now sign, "more, eat, milk, music, all done, kisses" and something that is like a pow wow sound. I've been teaching them "wow" and "hot" in a very slow, soft exaggerated way and they like to try to imitate it.

We spent Labor Day at Jeff's parents on Leech Lake. It was a nice weekend away and we spent most of it outside. It was beautiful. Jeff and I went to town and had a lunch alone on the water and did some shopping.

Being back at work is exhausting so my posts will be less than witty, I'm sure, not that they were ever that witty.

Random

Jeff "gets" Owen to pose for a pic after bath time.

Chase plays with his favorite ducks "Lucky" and "Cass"

Owen, so stinkin cute, STANDS while watching Daddy sing. How adorable, huh

Chase crawls on the guitar case and loves to explore it.

Owen watches Daddy.

Owen enjoying the Cozy Coupe, circa 1960

Chase asking Daddy for more chocolate, which you can see is lining his mouth.

Owen standing and signing "more"

Jeff singing and playing with some "help"

The boys at our pool party.

All these pictures are totally random, but cute, so I had to post them. I'm totally exhausted, to say the least. The past few days have worn me out. Posts are going to brief for awhile . . . I need to do some work tonight, which is a rarity for me, but really stinks. Boys are dreaming of sugar plums in their beds, Jeff is installing the railing on the deck and here I sit . . . ahhhh.
