This is What Happens When I . . .

This is how Owen came downstairs and I laughed so hard.  He was holding the shirt just like in these pictures.

Owen's Got Talent

 Can you do this?
 with both eyebrows?
Owen can!

Last night I asked Chase, "Do you know how much Mommy loves you?" and he said, "Five dollars."  hmmm, I think I love him more than $5. :)  I asked Owen the same question and he said, "Soooooooo much!"

We were reading the David and Goliath book.  We were at the end when David defeated Goliath and all the Philistine soldiers are running away.  Chase pointed at them and said, "They are running to their Mommies."  I guess they probably were. :)

This is what the boys were doing the other night while Jeff was skyping with his parents.  Did I mention it was in the mid 80's last weekend?  Man, it's amazing here.  Our magnolia tree is blossoming, things have leaves and it's truly wonderful.

Just things

I haven't posted anything of substance lately.  I think it's part because after working a long day I just don't have the energy to write when I get home at night.

The boys have really grown up a lot this winter.  I continue to be amazed at their physical growth, as well as their social/emotional, language and cognitive growth. Chase and Owen are both counting to at least 20-skipping 14.  Chase can identify numbers 0-9 and Owen knows 0, 1, and 7 at times.  The say super funny things and use words I had know idea they knew.  They continue to be wonderful, loving, caring, generous and compassionate boys.  This never ceases to amaze me and I know it comes from the Lord.  Chase prays at night for God to heal his owies, Owen tells God about his ceiling, curtains and cars.  They show such love and care for each other that I think must come with being a twin.  My adult twin friends have told me about their lives growing up and how they were just always with each other, always caring for each other, always WANTING to be with each other. They were best of friends and that's how Chase and Owen are.  I pray at night, "Thank you for Chase's good behavior", and Chase says, "And Owen's," like he doesn't want Owen to be left out, and Owen does the same.

I did find out that at daycare they do not always want to play with others, though.  I guess it's gotten better after a lot of encouraging and I wish I had known sooner because I would have addressed it at home.  I've noticed lately they are playing in different areas of the house more often.  I would say it's been this way for the past 6 months or so.

They are into hoarding little items.  I think it drives Jeff and I nutso. If we play puzzles, they must hoard all the pieces and put them in buckets and carry them around for about a week. They do the same with beads for stringing, letters, numbers, shapes, cars, anything they can get their hands on. Before we know it they have a 10 gallon pail of stuff they are dragging around.

That's all for now. :)

Last week in church Owen and Chase learned about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey.  They made these super cute donkey ears and have been wearing them around.  Soooo cute!  They LOVE Sunday school and love going to church.  Sunday school does a great job with them and are so welcoming.  They go to big group to sing, learn a little lesson and color and play with toys. One day we picked them up and all the little 3 year olds (about 12) were sitting on a big rug with small blankets reading their own Bibles.  It was so precious.  The boys ran to put away their blankets and Bibles and were proud to tell us they had been reading about Jesus.

Chase's proud look

This is the arm position Chase uses when he's happy or proud of something he's done. He's making the mad face because he didn't want me to take his picture. I just love this arm position-little hands under his pits-it's so funny to see him do it!  He'll say, "Hey Mommy,"  and point at his creation and put his fists under his pits and sticks out his tummy just a bit.  It cracks me up every time.

70 What?!!!

Silly Owen can't believe it's been in the low 70s in MN at the beginning of March!!! WHAT?!!  We've played outside a lot, gone to the park a lot and have been happy A LOT!
2 sillies.  They came up from the basement like this.  I wondered where the pacifiers came from.
 Owen in the tub, pre-haircut.
 Chasey with a spiked up-do.
Chase was putting letters on Owen's face for whatever reason.

Bath-time is crazy time at our house. The boys LOVE to play in the tub for up to an hour. It's hard to get them out at times.  They love love love to play with their letters and numbers and make their "names", which is a long line of letters put together.  I typically supervise bath time and Jeff comes up to help with dry off and clothing.  There may be tsunamis and crazy splashing, there may be arguments over toys, and there is always a lot of laughing and singing.

Tackle Mommy

Chase and Owen love to tackle and they love to tackle Mommy!  They are starting to get so heavy though so I have to be careful!  Running and jumping on Mommy is no longer allowed.
So I'm trying to look at Jeff, which didn't really happen.  I'm not sure what's up with Owen's pirate face.
Now I'm being strangled . . .
and loved  by Chase. . .

And kissed by Owen . . .

Somehow Owen ended upo n the bottom of the pile this time. :)

Just Another Day

Chase cuddles with me after his bath.  He loves to cozy up just like he did when he was a baby.
Then I start tickling him and all the coziness ends. :)
 Owen laughs at Daddy.
After bath tends to be a wild time.  Once the boys get dry they take off running around the house and it tends to be a very crazy time.
 Owen peers through his container
Owen was proud of his block tower.
