Christmas Bloopers

I was trying to take a nice picture of Nana and Chase and this is what I get.  He has been very into digging in his nose lately.

There is nothing like trying to get a picture of 4 toddlers.  Now Sophie has her finger up her nose, Chase isn't even looking, Owen is having a big sneeze attack and I cut out Gavin.  Wow!
Here is our attempt at a family picture.  Notice Chase weaseling himself out of the picture and Owen looking at him.

This picture was taken a few seconds after the one above.  Owen hadn't moved, but Chase sure had.

Merry Christmas!

It Brings New Light to the Term . . .

I made our Red Cake, which is an Anderson family tradition.  I've been attempting to make it for the past few years, and this year a real miracle happened, and the frosting turned out!  I was shocked and so happy to be able to correctly make the cake. Chase and Owen had 1 small piece on Christmas and today they wanted to lick the platter, which had only crumbs and a bit of frosting.  Boy, they were thorough.

Do you detect a bath coming up?

Chase and his red face.  The boys were literally shoving their fingers in their mouths trying to get every last morsel of cake into them.

No Pictures

Merry Christmas to everyone!  I don't have any pictures because my account is full and I need to purchase some storage.  I won't be able to upload pictures for a bit-sorry.

We have a snowy snowy day here and it's a perfect way to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

5th Largest Snowfall in MN History

To say we've had snow this month would be an understatement.  We've had A LOT of snow and it keeps coming!  The snow we had the weekend of the 18th was the 5th largest snowfall in MN history.  WOW.  We got around 17 1/2 inches.
This is a picture of the courtyard at my school.  The far corner in a door and the snow drift is up three fourths of the door.

This is the sidewalk in front of our house

Our driveway and neighborhood with lots of snow

We got the boys out of the house last weekend.  It was a much needed energy burner.  They had fun running around the driveway and diving into snow drifts.

We tried to play in the backyard but the snow was up to the boys' armpit.  It's hard to walk like that.  They had to crawl and then their mittens kept falling off-it was a mess.  Jeff ended shoveling off the 3 feet of snow on our deck.  That was a chore.

Weekend Fun

We had a pretty fun weekend, as evidenced by the pictures below!
We went to a friend's birthday party at the Community Center.  There were lots of balls to throw around and lots of space to run.

We ran and ran and ran.
We also got to jump in the bounce house, even though we were a little scared at first.  It was pretty funny to watch the boys slip and slide and fall.  They had some good wipeouts.

He straddles the bubble in an attempt to steady himself.

Owen, Chase and a neighbor boy rode around in the ball cart with Daddy pushing.

Owen wouldn't leave the ball cart, he loved it.

The birthday boy, his brother and Chase-very unhappy.

On Sunday we went to the Mustard Seed to see the reindeer.  They were pretty lazy and not very interesting, but we had fun in the sleigh in the store.

O Christmas Tree

We decorated our Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  It was fun for all of us.  I got out the soft, unbreakable ornaments and the boys went at it.  They had fun hanging them on the tree.  Of course they were all in the same spot on the tree.  They boys have several ornaments that are the same.  It was interesting to watch them hang them up.  They felt ornaments that were the same should be hung by each other.  :)  I tried to space them out a little because it looked weird to have them side by side.  Owen caught me moving them and insisted on putting the ornaments back the way he had them, side by side, or in one instance on the same branch.  Very cute and very funny.  I got out some of my prized ornaments (breakable of course) and those seemed to be of great interest.  I have a big glass ball from a visit to Washington D.C.  That made a few laps around the house dangling from a little hand before I had to take it away.  They sure love to ornaments that look breakable.  They want to touch them, reach for them and almost knock the tree over.  Several small glass balls were broken due to believing they could bounce like regular balls.  :)  Once the decorating was done they were interested in the tree for a couple days and now there is no interest.  They did like watching the angel turn different colors and I guess they do like hiding under the tree.  But other than that, no interest.

Look at the concentration!

Are you ever unable to think because you love your kids so much?  That's me today.  An un-thinker.  Thinkless.  Cognitively impared (ok, not really but you get my point).

Chase and Owen watch "Cars" for the first time.  How sweet is this?

Don't you love a little cookie with your sprinkles?  I know I do!  Chase and Owen helped me bake cookies on Sunday.  Boy oh boy I didn't know what I was getting into!  Owen first dumped all the little teeny tiny balls all over.  Then I gave him green sprinkles and those got dumped all over.  Finally I figured it out. I gave them each a bowl of sprinkles and they picked them up with their fingers and sprinkled.  They did great!  The first round went smoothly.  After I put the cookies in the oven I noticed there was a strange green and red glow around their mouths. Chase and Owen were eating all the sprinkles and they loved them!
Owen shows off his sprinkling tallent.

Good work Owey!

Don't you love sprinkles?

Owen ate the red sprinkles.

Chase ate the green.

Owen got ahold of the sprinkle balls.  Can you see them stuck to his face?

By this point he was sick of the camera and was hiding.

I love this picture.  You can see his eyes smiling behind all those sprinkles.

Ahhhhhh Mama!
