Sticker Fun

What's going on asks Chase

I have a what on my nose?

look at this Owen!

Just plain CUTE!

Owen tries to take off Chase's sticker

Chase reaches for Owen's sticker

Owen wears a blue smiley face on his nose.

"What?"

Chase has no clue the sticker is on his nose.

Owen and Chase recently were given some stickers. Boy did they have fun with them. They couldn't believe they could move them around and they stuck to their fingers. I put a sticker on each of their noses and they didn't even know it! Funny stuff.

A Big ISU Weekend

It was a big weekend for many reasons. 3 reasons, actually.

1. Chase walked!!! He took his first steps at the ISU tailgate, which is reason number 2. He was playing with some toys and was standing. Suddenly he started taking these little slow baby steps forward and sure enough, he was walking! I was so proud of him and he seemed so determined and happy and like it was a normal thing for him. He took about 5 steps and then kept doing it over and over. We are happy for him.

2. Chase and Owen went to their first Iowa State football game!!! That's right! We start them young at ISU. It was so much fun! We went down to Ames on Saturday morning and met my parents for lunch. We then did a little shopping and the boys took a 30 minute nap (shortest since they were born). We then went to B4 in the football field parking lot. We spent several hours chasing Owen and Chase around. They pushed their cars, played with balloons, ate food, played and laughed and had a great time. We then made our way with the rest of Ames to the football game. Chase and Owen were in awe at the number of people, the cheering, the colors and all the fun. They were such good little boys-sitting on our laps, being passed around, entertaining those around us, and being cute. They got to bed late that night, but had such a good day. We stayed with my Aunt and Uncle, Jon and Jill, and had a nice time visiting them. On Sunday we visited Central Campus, the water fountain, the Campanile, and Lake LaVerne. It was wonderful to be back on campus with my family and my parents.

3. Reason #3 comes with mixed emotions, you'll know why as soon as I say it. We bought a minivan. I know-go ahead, say it, think it. I said I would never get one, never never. Well, now I have one. I love the space, I love the comfort, I don't love the look. I like the look of my little black Jetta. I was a 'cool' mom (at least I thought I was cool). Now, I'm a minivan driving mom. Oh well, I guess it's time to really enter this momhood thing and embrace the minivan. It is pretty nice and has some great features that will help us all travel better. Ahhhh.

Not your typical tailgating food! Chase and Owen chow down.

Risky Business

Tom Cruise, eat your heart out!

Hot

The past few days in MN have been HOT! I consider 85 degrees hot, so does Owen. He's like his Mommy. When it's hot, he's hot and it shows.

Look at those rosy cheeks! He's sweating too, and his it makes his hair all wet and stick out!

"How I Eat an Apple" by Chase Robert

First, I assess the apple given to me by Mommy. In this case, she has eaten part of it. I choose the part eaten on because it contains no skin. I'm so happy to be a big boy eating my own apple!

Second, I open my mouth really wide, squint my eyes and take a huge bite.

Next, I hold the apple to my mouth and begin to suck the juice out.

Then I adore my apple

I hold my apple in my mouth and take another nibble

. . . and continue . . .

. . . and open wider . . .

and I bite as much as I can and . . .

I pull away, look down, and realize I am a big boy sitting on a bench by myself! Wow, the apple was cool, but this is way cool!
